The Bunmens: A Truson S.E.T. Story on Kindle Vella.

Dominique Gibson knew she wanted to be a writer ever since she sat down at her plastic table and wrote her first book out of sheer boredom at eight years old. Years later, she decided to go get her Bachelor’s Degree from Columbia College Chicago. She is obtaining her master’s degree in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. When not writing, she is busy teaching two year olds at a daycare center in Skokie, IL. How much do authors really make? Here’s the truth

Hello! Dominique Gibson is back with another post. So, I was just browsing on the internet as usual, curious about self-published authors and how much they make in order to break even in their careers to get a return on their investments after spending money on book covers, editing etc. and I came across this article about different authors and how much they make when it comes to their books. Some were traditionally published while others were self-published in different genres (Romance being at the top of the list). If you are curious and want more information about this, click on the link below.

Inspiration for future novels: hybrids

Hi! Dominique Gibson is back with another post. I don’t know how I got on this subject but the other day, I was researching something on the internet and I found this article about animal hybrids, which gave me the inspiration for my future work in progress. I thought that some of these animal hybrids would be a great thing to add to the Truson S.E.T. Series. What do you think?

If you want more information about these animal hybrids, check out the link below for more information. See you soon.

My latest adventure: The Bunmens

Cover for Kindle Vella

Hello, Dominique Gibson is back with a huge announcement. I had this idea for a little while as I heard that Amazon was releasing a new platform called Kindle Vella. If you want more information about it, I have included a short video about Kindle Vella above this post if you are interested in learning more about it. Just below the video is the cover I am using for my first story on Kindle Vella called The Bunmens: A Truson S.E.T. Story. So far, I have posted the first TWO episodes that will be available for free on Kindle Vella once it’s released. I am currently working on Episode four right now and my hope is that I will be able to make it available for release on the Kindle Vella app.

Differences between The Bunmens: A Truson S.E.T. Story and the Truson S.E.T. books:

The story is in first person. Unlike my Truson S.E.T. books where it’s mostly told from both the hero and heroine’s point of view (third person), I have decided to flex my writing muscles by writing in first person from the heroine’s perspective instead. In the future, if things go well when it comes to the responses I get from this story, I will be able to write another story from the hero’s point of view.

Editing. The most editing I have done to this piece so far has been some light editing. I haven’t done a lot of developmental editing because I want to see what the readers think about the story itself. Based on the responses I get, I will be able to make changes to the story as I go along.

Turning it into a book? Based on the votes of the readers and the responses I get, if it becomes successful, I will definitely think about turning it into a book. This is something that will always stay in the back of my mind as I continue to write these episodes for Kindle Vella.

That’s all for now. See you soon.

Exciting News for An Orman’s Revenge

So, I recently did a post about an announcement when it came to An Orman’s Revenge about receiving a five-star review through the Readers’ Favorite Book Awards. Since I signed up for the contest, it included a FREE review of my book which I sent back in April. Well, since I received that five star review, it also gave me the opportunity to download the Readers Favorite book seal on the front cover of the books. That means when new readers download the ebook version or buy the print version of An Orman’s Revenge, they will see the seal on the front cover of the book. Considering my book is still in review for receiving any medals from the contest, I will be sure to post any upcoming developments after September 1st.

In the meantime, I have decided to post the review of An Orman’s Revenge down below if you are interested. I will also be updating this information on the main page of this website as well.

Have a good night.

5-Star Review of An Orman’s Revenge

Reviewed By Jennifer Ibiam for Readers’ Favorite:
An Orman’s Revenge by Dominique Gibson is a beautiful paranormal romantic story that will appeal to lovers of otherworldly novels. This book had a plot so unique that I found it hard to believe that the Island of Truson was a fable and the Ormans were nonexistent. The development was also beautiful both for the characters and the setting. I found the proximity of the island fascinating–-farthest on earth, yet a drive away from Alaska. This made me smile. The mix of modern technology and magic also lent some mystique to the storyline. Mandy and Ford were powerful characters, but Lex was formidable and my most favorite. His character raises a sensitive discussion about the discrimination against albinos. I hope we can do better as humans to embrace everyone’s uniqueness. Thank you, Dominique, for a beautiful book written in an expert style and easy to understand. Please write more books.
