If you are interested in purchasing this book, you can find this book at online retailers everywhere. Happy Reading!
*SPOILER ALERT* – If you are currently reading the book or if you haven’t read the book yet, I would strongly suggest you read the book first before reading the review. Thank you.
Title: The best is Yet To Come by Debbie Macomber
Genre: Women’s Fiction, romance
Published: 2022-2023 (Different editions such as hardcover, paperback, etc.)
After losing her twin brother in the army, Hope Goodwin moved away to Oceanside, Washington to try and move forward with her life: She has a great life as a high school teacher as she tries to distract herself from the past. But when her landlord asks her to volunteer at the animal shelter, she doesn’t realize just how much her life is about to change because of her choice. While volunteering at the animal shelter, She ends up meeting a dog name Shadow. Shadow is a dog who doesn’t seem like he can connect with anyone because of his aggressive behavior…until he meets Hope.
Seeing Hope and Shadow bond in the animal shelter takes the attention of Cade Lincoln Jr. , a wounded ex-soldier who has problems of his own. After having a tense moment of anger which lands him in to do community service in addition to having therapy to talk about his feelings, he doesn’t want to deal with anyone…just like Shadow. But as the days goes by and he starts to see each other more and more at the shelter, they end up opening up and forming a bond that will truly be tested from the beginning of the novel until the end.
This book also includes a huge subplot that involves her high school students getting into a major scandal that would rock not only the entire high school but the entire town of Oceanside for good.
Overall Rating of the Book: I gave this book five stars. I was really intrigued by both Cade and Hope’s history since they were both similar when it came to the pain of losing a loved one. It was certainly interesting to see how connected they were from the beginning. I also like the deep bond that Hope shared with Shadow when everyone else wanted to give up on him. Finally, I liked the high school subplot twist I didn’t see coming in the book.
So, that is my overall review of this book. Please feel free to come back to my website for more posts, videos, book reviews, and more. Thanks!
