Going full speed ahead with the next four books in the series

Hi! I’m back with another post. So back in January, I had did a kickstarter campaign that just recently ended this week (February 12th to be exact) and I am disappointed to report that the funds I wanted for the next four books in the series didn’t go through. Despite my efforts to reach my funding goal ($26,800 I think) on Kickstarter, I have decided not to give up when it comes to writing these books even though I will be doing the one thing I swore I would never do.

Go rogue when it comes to editing.

The reason for this is because I don’t have the funds right now to hire a professional editor to look over my work. The professional editor I hired cost at least $1,500 dollars with every manuscript that she looks at. Considering I am living paycheck to paycheck right now without any other income to support my bills, paying for a professional editor would simply be out of the question right now. But I don’t want to stop writing these books either. The thought of me not writing anymore because of the lack of funds I have drives me crazy. I can’t do it. Writing is in my blood.

These stories that I have to write are in my blood as well. I can’t let them go. I thought about writing it and walking away until I could find a professional editor to edit them but I can’t. I want to write these stories and get them out into the world. so, for right now at least, I will be self-editing them and publishing them myself. I had found this great website that talked about how to edit your own work before you self-publish and it really gave me the courage to try it out since I am on a tight budget right now. Other ideas I have thought about when it comes to writing my work includes creating a Patreon page and writing short stories based on the the Truson S.E.T. Series books. I have done short stories in the past and I just recently wrote a new short story for my email subscribers that centers around the Phimans trilogy. My hope is that I will be able to start this in the near future.

I am still working on The Bunmens for Kindle Vella. My hope is that I will be able to complete it this year so that I will be able to free up my time to write my short stories and novels in the series if I ever decide to do a Patreon page. Another option to consider is doing a different project exclusively for Harlequin. I have been thinking about this for a long while and I have decided that I finally want to go for it. I am still debating on which line I want to write for (Harlequin Desire or Harlequin Special Edition) but I have this deep desire to write stories for them and that’s what I plan to do.

That’s it for now. See you soon.

My first love has always been writing since I was eight years old. After getting my Bachelor's Degree in Fiction Writing from Columbia College Chicago and struggling for years trying to get published the traditional way, I decided that the only way to promote my work was to promote myself which is why I am self-publishing my paranormal romance The Truson S.E.T. Series.
