Hi! Dominique Gibson is back with another post. So, I wanted to give an exciting update on what is going to happen with my current work in progress that I am doing now. As of April 13th, 2026, I have ordered another book from Amazon. This time it is a writing book that I will be reading and taking notes from during the self-editing process of my work. The books I officially had in the past I had to give away because of my move last year from the United States to South Korea.
So, I had to start all over again when it came to my book collection. One of the books I got to start the self-editing process is called Seven Drafts: Self-Edit like a Pro From Blank Page to Book by Allison K. Williams. There is a table of contents where she talks about the different stages of self-editing from “The Vomit Draft,” which I am assuming is the first draft of your novel, to publication of your book after its finished. My hope is that I will start reading it and taking notes on it by the end of May at the least.
Small writing update: I am still in the final phase of my work in progress. My hope is that I will be able to update you on the completion of the first draft very soon.
