What’s something you’ve done that your past self would be proud of?

Back when I was younger, I clearly thought that I would spend the rest of my days writing books as a hobby. I thought that was what authors did. I knew that the books were available in bookstores but I thought it would be impossible for me to ever turn it into a career.

Until I started reading romance novels that is.

Once I started reading them, I couldn’t get enough. I wanted to see who the authors were and when their next books were coming out. Then I looked up the publishers and found out just how much money they were making.

That’s when I wanted to turn it from a hobby into a full time career.

Unfortunately, it didn’t happen right away. I tried the traditional publishing route when it came to the Truson S.E.T. series. After multiple rejections for both the young adult and adult versions of An Orman’s Revenge, I felt like my dreams were fading from me.

Until I decided to self-publish it.

Then another.

So, now I am sitting at five books with two on the way in 2027. After all of this, I would tell my younger self that your dream will finally come true and that you will become a published author.

Just not in the way you expect

And even though it may not be a lot to other writers, it will mean a lot to you. You will receive a sticker to reward you for your hard efforts when it comes to working on your first book.

Don’t give up. Your dream will come someday.
